Dru Yoga for Wellness

I get asked a lot of the time what style of yoga do I practice and frequently, after answering Dru Yoga, I see the question mark in people's expression.

You can find here more about the technicalities of Dru Yoga, but I would rather tell you why I have chosen Dru as my own practice and why I love sharing it in my classes. I tried many styles before I found Dru, and honour them all, but I have never looked back. Is just perfect for me.

What I love about Dru is the contrast of gentleness in the form and the strength you feel in body, mind and spirit at the end of your practice. I like that it is real, that it is not about doing or striving but about being, feeling and staying present. I love that you can be any age, any fitness level, that is inclusive and whole. I love that you can practice it even if you can't touch your toes. I love how amazing it is for the spine and effective to unlock stagnant energy, thoughts, physical pain and discomfort. I love how clear your mind becomes and how it is so simple, you can do it anywhere, anytime.

If you ever wanted to try yoga and felt it wasn't for you, if you have felt inadequate in a yoga class or intimidated by the things you see on the media about yoga, I invite you to try Dru.

Once you experience Dru Yoga you will love it in every way.

What to expect from a Dru Yoga class:

To get the most out of your yoga practice without straining yourself, it is essential to begin by warming up the body and bringing your full attention to the present moment.

Fun, flowing mindful movement releases accumulated tension and prepares your body for a safe and enjoyable practice.

Expect shaking, tapping, cross patterning, twisting, figures of 8 and, my favourite one, spinal waves (just to mention some).

They keystone to Dru, Energy Block Release (EBR) are carefully designed sequences of stretching, twisting, forwards, backwards and sideways bending, and squatting movements that work on every part of your body.

They dissolve areas of tight or blocked energy on a physical, mental and emotional level.

They are very potent and can be practised with all other Dru elements or on their own.

Yoga Asanas

Here is where we explore traditional Asanas or Postures by themselves or blend in beautiful and flowing sequences.

Each posture and sequence has very specific therapeutic benefits for the body and mind.

Conscious intention takes the healing process deeper when you add all layers of our being with powerful affirmations and visualisations in any given posture.

Deep Relaxation

Relaxation is the natural conclusion to your yoga practice.

In Dru Yoga, relaxation sessions are given plenty of time to allow the energy that has been activated to settle in the right way and place, so that maximum healing takes place.

Ten minutes of Dru relaxation is equivalent to 2 hours of sound sleep, making it the perfect opportunity to repair the body at a cellular level.

You will leave the class feeling restored and renewed from the inside out.

A weekly 75 min session of Dru Yoga will help you:

Listen to your body cues

Release stress & tension

Enjoy a better sleep

Reconnect with your breath

Improve strength & flexibility

Move freely

Increase your energy levels

Reduce back pain

Feel fully alive & vibrant
