Soaring with Garuda

Our Journey into Personal Awareness and Mental Clarity

I'm so happy to be back with you after an unforgettable month in Mexico visiting my family. After six years since our last visit, you can imagine how thirsty I was for some quality time with my parents, my brother and reconnecting with my roots. I feel as time passes, I appreciate more and more these moments of connection. I am more curious about where I come from, about my parents' journey and seeing them more as human beings.

As I reflect about the past few weeks, I feel quite grateful about the deep lessons my parents have imparted to me and my brother. They’ve always encouraged us to have a clear vision and chase our dreams fearlessly. They’ve selflessly inspired us to fly despite anything and anyone (including themselves). I felt really touched by the love and support we received every single moment while we were home.

One afternoon, on a weekend with my friends in Valle de Bravo, I saw an eagle in the distance. I was mesmerised by the profound wisdom of this majestic bird and the freedom with which it expressed itself. That eagle inspired me to write this blog post and to bring its beautiful qualities as our Community Intention for this month, I called it The Energy of Garuda.

Unveiling the Mythical Garuda

In Hindu and Buddhist traditions, Garuda is more than a mythical creature; it's a symbol deeply embedded in their culture and spiritual lives. Expressed as a magnificent eagle or bird-like creature, Garuda's stories are part of the Hindu ancient texts like the Mahabharata and the Puranas.

In Buddhism, Garuda symbolises the enlightened mind, pristine awareness and freedom from suffering. The bird's flight is a metaphor for transcending attachments and delusions. It represents mental clarity, vision, and the ability to rise above challenges.

Imagine your life with these powerful qualities, guiding you through the twists and turns of life with more grace and resilience.

Replacing Old with Lasting New Ways of Being

A new year often begins with well-intentioned resolutions, only to be met with the frustrating return of old habits, for most people quite soon. This gives us a practical application of Garuda's energy in our daily lives. This energy is as powerful as graceful, and it can become a reliable ally to break free from the weight of these patterns.

By consciously releasing habits and patterns that no longer serve us, we make room for lasting changes and, it is in the quietude of this inner space, that we can replace old ways with new more empowering ones that resonate more with the frequency of our highest intentions.

Garudasana: A journey of interconnectedness

In my own yoga journey, the eagle posture has always been one of my favourite ones, even when it has been challenging. Garudasana, with its pretzeled limbs, symbolizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and soul. The secret in the posture is to stop trying but simply allow the body to tangle itself through mindful breath and movement. When I become the eagle on my mat, I feel a powerful rush of energy through my body and feel limitless for the rest of the day.

The transformative power of Garuda's energy, helps to transcend limitations and tap into a wellspring of inner strength.

Soaring Together into a Year of Transformation

Now that the year is well on its way, my wish for this community is that we collectively embrace the call to deep and lasting transformation, to stop limiting ourselves and lead our way towards  lives that are more fulfilling, authentic, and aligned with our higher purpose.

If you want to go a little deeper, in just two weeks I am starting a new group of my Consciousness Mentoring program, in which, for six months, you will be the star of your movie and continue to live your life authentically, freely, without limits, just like Garuda.

If you have emotional baggage that is weighing you down or feel the chains of regret, anger & resentment, the Autumn Retreat is here for you to open your heart to love, connect and enjoy again.

And our weekly classes are always here for that very needed Me-Time, remember Dru is a gentle yet powerful way to come back to the essence of who you are.
