Welcome to our first practice of 2026. As we stand in this powerful "portal" between the calendar New Year and the energetic arrival of the Year of the Fire Horse on February 17th, we are presented with a sacred opportunity. This class is designed to help you "fine tune" your life, ensuring you aren't carrying old baggage into a year that is about momentum and freedom.
What is Agni?
In Ayurveda, Agni is our internal fire. While often associated with digestion, its influence reaches far beyond the stomach. In this session, we explore how Agni acts as your personal alchemist across all levels of your being:
- Physical: Balancing your metabolic fire to steady blood sugar and increase vitality.
- Emotional: Transmuting "old weight" and stagnant emotions into wisdom and peace.
- Energetic: Clearing the nadis (energy channels) to allow for a higher frequency of flow.
- Mental: Sharpening your "Splenic knowing" and mental clarity so you can make choices from alignment, not habit.
The Preparation for the Fire Horse
The Fire Horse brings a stampede of high-visibility energy. If we enter February feeling sluggish or heavy, we miss the gallop. By sparking your Agni now, you are building the "internal hearth" necessary to handle the heat of the coming cycle. We are burning the old maps to make way for your most authentic, light, and powerful self.
What to Expect:
A summer-focused Dru Yoga sequence, including Agni Namaskara, to build heat in the thighs and core, a guided contemplation on the "9-year perspective"—who do you want to be in 2035 and a nurturing relaxation to anchor your new intentions into your nervous system.
